Watching James practice with his new team has been fascinating, this is so clearly where he belongs. The only problem is Tiwa isn't sure where she fits, he's in the changing room so quickly that she doesn't know what to say when someone asks her if she's his girlfriend.

When she gets the question, she manages a quick smile and a lie about just a friend before sitting as high up as she can be without flying.

The team is wonderful and finally seeing what he's meant to be doing when flying, but that ache of what are they is still there.

At the end of the practice, she's not sure where to wait and so sits near the bottom of the stands instead of being with the crowd of girlfriends and wives.

Tiwa doesn't remember the last time she was quite this nervous, they're already a something so just going on a date shouldn't make her this jumpy. Bar has provided her with a mug of milo that's meant to be calming, which is kind of working.

She dressed up a little bit but not over the top at least she hopes not, so she has on a blue, twirly skirt with some drawing of gold feathers on it and a simple top that matches.

Make up is odd so she just put on some lip stuff and painted her nails gold, now if he would just arrive, she'd stop feeling so ready to fly off.

As they step through the door, Tiwa pulls her light anorak from her pocket and pulls it on as the city is spread out before them,

"Can just leave from here. I'll make sure we don't get in trouble."

Tiwa looks nervous and excited as she pulls James through the door to her Uncle Manu's which looks out over the water. The house itself isn't huge but it has clearly been constructed and worked on by someone who is good at making things, there are lots of wonderful small touches of carvings and paintings,

"No one else is here but him at the moment. I convinced Mum that she didn't really want to see me getting tattooed and she agreed. So no questions to deal with for now."

The door opens from Te Papa onto the Wellington waterfront as a Spring twilight is just starting to change the colors in the sky.

Tiwa steps through first and then steps behind James and taking him and turning him towards the water and says quietly in his ear,

"Haere Mai Te Whanga-nui-a-Tara."

Returning from the Bar wasn't fun though the cookies were a warm weight in her pocket. The crowds on Cuba Mall were still busy and she was spotted in the crowd. So she plunged deeper in, praying that Liam and Tane were doing better and almost falling over as a man loomed in front of her.

He could have been a preacher but the hatred and banality rising off of him made her head hurt. After the light and laughter of James, he was a black hole who reached for her and she opened her mouth and cried out,

"Leave me alone, leave me alone!!"

The crowds turned towards them as he muttered, trying to find a way to hold her and she could feel that he had cold iron but wouldn't give him a chance as a policeman came by,

"What's happening here?"

"H.he tried to touch me. Was just trying to find my Jamie, he gave me his jacket cause it got all cold. We were just shopping for the dance."

She makes the words tumble out and her accent be more Maori as she holds onto the thought of missing James, which works far too well. He nods and gives the preacher a look and he mutters,

"Just trying to save her soul, been corrupted."

"Try it again and I'll have you arrested. Now get out of my sight before I change my mind."

Then he turns and slips into the crowd, giving Tiwa a look of such frightening emptiness and hatred, it makes her shiver.

Liam and Tane hear her crying and she doesn't even hear them talking to the policeman before they head back to court. They know they'll face trouble but what keeps hurting is the way James choked on that cookie, was a stupid thing to say anyway.

Everyone fusses again and Dan takes his jacket back as he gives her a hug and she flies home, tired of so much fuss. Proper and older warriors go hunting the Dauntain and take them down so Wellington is as safe as it can be for a Changeling.

School is boring, rugby season is some distraction and Tiwa hoards a bag of cookies as she wishes a door would just open again.
