Freeing the Bird

The shortcut through the Dreaming leaves them close to many warehouses and the water in Kaiwharawhara but only one has a palpable feel of magic and about ten young men simply hanging about.

As everyone starts to appear, a few of the men pull out various objects to focus as the magic grows in the air as the others who are a bit too pale just grin.

Teams: 1-Alex, Aiden, the Baron, Hamlet
2-Carl, Ben, James, Peron

Starting things off again and I'm just going to do the James' thread later and make it work.

Tiwa tries to be strong and finally looks up with a kind of smile though the bruise makes smiling hurt,

"Are you okay, how'd you get here?"

Lightly, James touches the bruise with his fingertip.

"Yeah, I'm okay," he says, noting the strange irony of the question. Shouldn't it be him who asks whether she's all right?

Of course, the bruise in question answers that question for him.

"I met Liam," he says then. "And your brother Tane, too. They came looking for help, so me and a bunch of your mates from the bar came to find you."

Its odd to have him touching the bruise and sets her off trembling as she peers around at the fight,

"Didn't want anyone else to get hurt."

"You honestly couldn't stop any of our lot," he says, raising an eyebrow. "I doubt any of them mind."

He gives her another quick hug.

"And I reckon they'll want to see that you're all right."

She leans into the hug and nods, can't fall apart just yet though she's feeling tired and just hurting,

"Will be, promise."
